The scandal deepens/ Denis Meçe imposed a fine on Egli Proga and raped

The murder of 42-year-old Egli Proga on August 10 in Pogradec, by the young Denis Meçe, is reported to have happened because of a fine that the author imposed on the victim.

It was the afternoon of August 10 when Egli Proga closed the shutter of his bar in Pogradec for the last time and headed home.

A few meters further, near another bar was Denis Meçe and he invited Eglin for a cigarette. He asked the 42-year-old for the daily round as a "fine", but the latter refused.

Eyewitnesses have told Top Channel that in those moments, Egli said that he could not give him the daily round, as he had to support his children.

The daily round cost Egli his life, after he was punched on the left side of the head by Denis Meçe, a blow which was fatal.

He fell to the ground and lay there for 30 minutes, say witnesses from the scene, while a police officer was also nearby.

The family members tried to take the 42-year-old and send him to the hospital, but they were refused and were told by the police that help can only be given by specialized people, but the ambulance came late according to them.

After the incident, Denis Meçe was arrested, while three other people were also arrested. Voltan Shulku, 40 years old, Arian Manellari, 55 years old, and Leonidha Guçe, 47 years old, who were today left in prison by the Court of Korça.

They are accused of concealing events, but also of actions that prevent the disclosure of the truth
