Kurti on CNN: I will not surrender the democratic republic to a fascist militia

The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, spoke on the prestigious American media CNN about the tensions in the north.

He said that he cannot hand over the democratic republic to the fascist militia.

Kurti, asked about the reactions of the internationals and the punishments from the USA, which are also related to the exclusion of Kosovo from Defender Europe 2023, said that initially the internationals recognized the result of the elections.

He added that since they have recognized this result, then the mayors are the ones who should enter the municipal facilities.

"All international bodies recognized the results of the elections. Once you know this result, then the mayors should go to the municipal facilities. Who else should go to these facilities, if not the mayors?", asked Kurti.

"I will not surrender the democratic republic to a fascist militia", he continued.

He said that the violent gangs that attacked the Kosovo Police, KFOR and journalists are directed by Serbia.

"We have many videos and photos showing Serbian militia being part of violent gangs. Some of them come from Kosovo, but some also from Serbia. Neighboring Serbia is a pro-Russian autocracy ," he said.

"They ordered this so-called gendarmerie to cause riots in Kosovo ," Kurti continued.

The Prime Minister of Kosovo has emphasized that Kosovo cannot privilege a single community.

"We have a Serbian community in Kosovo, which is 5% of the population. We want to live in a multicultural society, but we don't want to have a privileged minority, because Belgrade wants compensation for the bombing by NATO during the time of Millshoevic", declared Kurti.
