Former Kosovo MP detained in Serbia, MFA reacts: Arbitrary action

Former Kosovo MP Gramos Agusholli has been detained by authorities in Serbia.

The news was confirmed by the Kosovo Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which said that Agusholli was stopped at the border crossing in Merdare while in transit to Slovenia.

"Regarding this case, the Liaison Office of the Republic of Kosovo in Serbia has notified the diplomatic missions of the QUINT states and the EU Office in Belgrade.

"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora has immediately notified the diplomatic missions of the QUINT countries and the EU Office in Kosovo, and has taken the necessary steps to provide complete and official information regarding the case ," the announcement states.

As stated in the announcement, the MFA strongly condemns this arbitrary action of the Serbian authorities and calls on the International Community to react immediately, demanding the immediate release of Mr. Gramos Agusholli and the cessation of such repressive practices, which contradict the fundamental principles of international law and international conventions on human rights.

"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora will keep all international partners informed of any further developments regarding this case. Any new information will be disseminated immediately after official confirmation," the announcement states, among other things.
