The pain of breaking up with Ben Affleck 20 years ago inspired J.Lo to become a 'diva'
Pop star Jennifer Lopez recently surprised by revealing that she will release a song dedicated to her husband Ben Affleck. Taking to Instagram, Jennifer shared the tracklist for her 2023 album This Is Me… Now, which includes “Dear Ben pt. ll.” Fans immediately went wild over the song's title, which references the ballad "Dear Ben" that J.Lo released in 2002, the year she first met Affleck.
Lopez said that Ben Affleck made her feel inspired by love again. The singer, in an interview with Zane Lowe, explained why she let her career take over her life for years before hooking up with Affleck, which inspired her to make new music in the form of her upcoming album.
"20 years ago I fell in love with the love of my life and I was working on an album. It was called 'This Is Me…Now' and it was all about capturing that moment in time. I've been in so much pain for so many years. The way my way of surviving was to work harder and hide that side of me. But now, 20 years later, there's a happy ending."
Lopez, meanwhile, has recently confessed everything about her marriage in an interview with 'Vogue' magazine. The 53-year-old married Ben Affleck in Las Vegas in July. J.Lo revealed that she is proud to have taken her husband's last name. The couple first dated between 2002 and 2004 and during their 20-year separation Ben married Jennifer Garner, with whom he has three children.
