The chief negotiators of Kosovo and Serbia, Besnik Bislimi and Petar Petkovic, did not hold a tripartite meeting with the EU's special envoy for the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, Miroslav Lajcak, on Tuesday in Brussels.
Bislimi met twice with Lajcak and said that the tripartite meeting with Petkovic failed because Serbia "conditioned the agenda of the meeting with unacceptable demands for Kosovo". He did not explain what demands the Serbian side added to condition participation in the tripartite meeting.
"There was only one point on the agenda, moving forward with the implementation of the agreement on the normalization of relations. But it was emphasized that additional topics can be discussed if both sides agree. We agreed on this, but Serbia wanted to condition its participation in the meeting with additional topics on the agenda, which were not acceptable to the Kosovar side", said Bislimi.
In the bilateral meeting with Lajçak, Bislimi said that the main topic was the way forward in the implementation of the Basic Agreement and the implementation annex in Ohrid, which Kosovo and Serbia agreed on in 2023.
