Accused of planning the murder of Behar Sofia, 35 years in prison for Jemin

The special court sentenced Jemin Sheren, the person accused of planning the murder of Behar Sofia, to 35 years in prison.

This sentence was handed down in the defendant's absence, as Shera is wanted.

At the conclusion of the trial, a panel of judges composed of Rudina Palloj, Elsa Ulliri and Etleva Deda sentenced Jemin Shera based on Article 55 of the Criminal Code, merging the previous sentences.

Investigations into the incident and how Behar Sofia's murder occurred

SPAK said that the investigation revealed that Shera received the order to execute Behar Sofia and created a criminal group to carry out the murder.

The group members had been observing their target for six months until they executed him on the morning of February 25, 2021, near the pyramid in Tirana.

To prove the charges against Jemin Shera, the prosecution filed 168 pieces of documentary evidence and requested the questioning of 16 witnesses and 5 co-defendants in the same trial, Bujar Leza, Xhuliano Visha, Skënder Vathi, Leonard Xhixha and associate justice Ernejt Shyti.

Shera and the other defendants executed Behar Sofia for a fee. Ernejt Shyti acted as the executioner. While, despite the fact that years have passed since the crime that shocked Tirana, the perpetrators have not been identified. The motive for the businessman's murder is suspected to be clashes between criminal groups in drug trafficking.
