Manjani: The recount of votes for Tirana will no longer be done by political

Lawyer Ylli Manjani explained to Euronews Albania the process that is expected to take place regarding the recount of votes in Tirana, a request made by the DP and accepted by KAS, which claimed vote tampering.

Manjani explains where the recount will take place for the party and candidates, and how long the process is expected to take. He adds that this recount will no longer be conducted by political commissioners, but by the CEC administration.

"The ballots will be checked in Tirana at the KAS headquarters, the recount will be done in the presence of the KAS with several counting groups. The counters do not have to be those who were assigned by the parties, but it should be the CEC administration that will carry out the recount procedure with the same process as the initial count was done in the polling centers, that is, with the opening, with the keeping of the minutes under the supervision of the KAS."

The KAS is practically the big CEAZ that will evaluate, sheet by sheet, everything related to the voting results, both for parties and candidates.

It's a voluminous job. As for when this process is expected to be completed, it would be a success if it were completed by the end of August, as it will take more time than the initial process, because there were more groups then. There are a million voters and ballots to look at.
