Online fraud scheme discovered, AKSK appeals to citizens: how to protect

The National Cyber Security Authority has identified an online fraud scheme that aimed to steal the banking data of Albanian citizens.

The fraud was carried out through telephone messages where, pretending to be the Albanian Post Office, citizens were sent a notification about a "shipment" that could not be delivered without updating their personal data.

Authorities call on citizens not to open suspicious links and to report any fraud attempts to cybersecurity structures.

AKSK announcement:

WARNING: Don't fall prey to online scams!

The National Cyber Security Authority has immediately taken all measures to block a fraudulent scheme that aimed to steal banking data through fake messages in the name of the Albanian Post.

The dangerous domain has been reported and sent for blocking to AKEP.

This campaign is not related to a specific sponsored actor, but is another attempt to steal credit card data, similar to previous cases encountered by Albanian Post impersonators.

Be careful! Never give out your bank or card details through suspicious forms!

AKSK continues monitoring and close cooperation with responsible institutions to prevent any attempt at digital fraud.
