Meloni leaves Albania, Corriere della Sera: A possible meeting with Tony Blair

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni left Albania last evening on a ferry.

The Italian media Corriere della Sera has dedicated an article to her visit to Albania, while writing that a possible meeting with former British Prime Minister Tony Balir, who was in Vlora at the same time as Meloni, remains a mystery.

Corriere writes that former Prime Minister Blair's staff has confirmed that there was no dinner with Meloni, but they have not ruled out a possible meeting.

After the trip to Albania, Giorgia Meloni returns to Puglia. Disembarkation from the Prince ferry at the port of Brindisi is expected this morning. The possible meeting with Tony Blair remains shrouded in mystery ("No dinner", assures the former British Prime Minister's staff of the circulating rumors, without excluding a meeting). Meloni will return to the Beneficio farm in Ceglie Messapica for the final look of the holidays. In the old city of Vlora, the Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama warmly greets her, who publishes some photos with the Italian Prime Minister on social networks, saying that he is honored to have her invited: "Albania's sister, Italy's brother. It was an honor."

Meloni returns to Italy knowing that a "challenging autumn" awaits her, as she declares for the newspaper Pulia. Beyond the files awaiting the government, from the budget law, justice reform to the ratification of Mes, however, the 'political temperature' in the days she was away also increased within the majority, directly involving the two leaders of the main forces of coalition, as well as the deputy prime ministers, Antonio Tajani and Matteo Salvini, in close competition for the European elections next spring.

The Northern League leader took the cue from the situation in Spain after the vote to issue a stark warning: "This is what happens when the center right vetoes and splits, the left wins despite having fewer votes." Carlo Fidanza, who leads the Melonians in the European Parliament, also speaks of a "disturbing convergence between the left and Catalan independence activists" over the election of socialist Francina Armengol as president of the Spanish congress.

For now, though, it's the last glimpse of the Apulian holiday. The 4 days in Albania would have been marked by maximum relaxation, between the beach of Rama's residence and several boat trips that have not escaped the media across the Adriatic, who filmed Meloni's sister, Ariana, and brother-in-law, minister Francesco Lollobrigida, on board the boat great with the prime minister and his family. With him also Marcello Gemmato, undersecretary and loyal to the prime minister. But many are waiting for a call in the coming days: leaders, colleagues, entrepreneurs, friends. It is useless to ask them, silence resists. "We are soldiers", they joke. But there is already talk of a dinner, in the following hours, perhaps at the Beneficio farm itself, with very selected invitations./ Corriere della Sera
