Tirana Roads takes stock of 1 week: Over 13,900 fines during intensive checks

Tirana Traffic Police continues with intensive controls on interurban roads and residential areas to ensure road safety and punish violators of the Traffic Code.

Over the past week, from monitoring conducted with drones, radars and cameras, 41 people have been arrested or prosecuted, 18 of them for driving while intoxicated or without a license, 46 vehicles have been impounded, 23 driving licenses have been suspended and a total of 13,911 administrative measures have been imposed.

Intensive checks continue on all interurban routes and in residential centers, to identify and punish violators of the Highway Code.

Monitoring, with ????drones, ????radars and ????cameras, as well as with ????‍♀️????‍♂️increased presence of Traffic Police services.

During the last week, as a result of monitoring:

41 citizens have been arrested/proceeded for violating the rules of the Highway Code. 18 of the arrests were for driving while intoxicated/or without a license;

46 vehicles are blocked;

13,911 administrative measures have been imposed;

23 driving licenses have been suspended;

1 citizen wanted for the criminal offense of "Irregular Driving" has been detained.

From the field, the Commander of one of the road traffic monitoring groups, Deputy Commissioner Gerhard Baka, appealed to road users to respect road traffic rules.

He also appealed to drivers of electric skateboards to circulate in the lanes designated for them, and invited citizens to report any violation of road traffic rules.
