Vodafone will invest in STEM and digital skills for Albanian youth

Vodafone Group will invest 20 million euros in funding initiatives to encourage digital skills and education among young people.

Investments will be made in Albania, Romania, Germany, Greece, the Czech Republic and several other European countries. The goal is for this program to provide support to 16 million students by 2025.

The education programs will be implemented in partnership with NGOs and charities and will help young people develop their skills in digital technologies.

Nick Read, CEO of Vodafone Group, said: "Vodafone is proud to support the development of digital and educational capabilities in the communities where it operates, through its expertise in telecommunications technology."

In Albania, Vodafone will soon launch the Generation Next project which consists of eSTEM courses (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics), a platform where young people passionate about science, technology, engineering and math can take digital knowledge so important to their professional future.

Young people and their training in digital knowledge, is one of the main focuses of the company. Only during the pandemic, Vodafone Albania through the #RedForKids project of the Vodafone Foundation, enabled the donation of 15,000 tablets and digital devices to help children of needy families, identified in some areas of Albania, so that no one is left away from online access and learning hours on digital platforms.
