Former mayor of Kavaja appears before SPAK

Former mayor of Kavaja Elvis Roshi was summoned to SPAK this Monday, where he is being charged with abuse of office. He was accompanied to the entrance of the Special Prosecution Office by lawyer Andi Skënderi.

Roshi is accused in connection with an investigation that began a long time ago, but in December 2023, the GJKKO returned the file to the prosecutor's office for further investigation. The case in question concerns a suspected corrupt tender during the time he headed the Municipality of Kavaja.

The Durrës Prosecution Office had launched an investigation against Roshi for the criminal offense of abuse of office, and addressed the Durrës Court with a request to dismiss the case, but the latter decided to declare incompetence and transfer the file to the Special Court.

The criminal proceedings were registered after the Supreme State Audit Office, following an audit in the Municipality of Kavaja, identified violations and filed a report.
