The hearing was held in the Appeal of the Court of Appeals against Erion Veliaj, the arrested mayor of Tirana, who was left in prison.
The mayor was represented by his lawyer Ermir Beta. Elman Abule and lawyer Romina Zano were also present.
According to the Special Prosecution Office, investigations have revealed an organized corrupt mechanism that allowed the Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, and his wife, Ajola Xoxa, to benefit from public funds for personal enrichment, through illegal and camouflaged actions.
