Dispute escalates into violence, 64-year-old injured with knife in Divjaka

A momentary conflict over weak motives has ended in physical violence with serious consequences in the village of Çermë-Sektor of Divjaka. A 64-year-old man was injured after being stabbed by a fellow villager, while the suspected perpetrator has been arrested by the Police.

According to official information, the incident occurred at around 2:00 PM on Monday, following a verbal argument between two citizens, which degenerated into a physical fight. Police immediately identified and arrested the suspected perpetrator, citizen Lulzim Muça, 44 years old, resident of Çermë-Proshkë.

The latter is suspected of having attacked citizen Ferit Balkiu, 64, a resident of Çermë-Sektor, with a cutting tool (knife). The injured man was urgently transported to the hospital and is under the care of doctors, out of danger to his life.

The police have seized the cold weapon used in the attack as material evidence, while the investigation team is working to fully clarify the circumstances and motive of the conflict.

In a media release, the Divjaka Police calls on citizens to avoid the use of violence and choose legal avenues to resolve disputes, emphasizing that the rapid intervention of the blue uniforms has prevented more serious consequences in this case.
