The United States of America sanctioned the chief democrat Sali Berisha on May 19, 2021. The leader of the opposition together with his family were declared 'non-women' for reasons which the leader of the DP has repeatedly requested from the State Department.

As he stated in his public appearances, Berisha has already chosen someone trusted to go to the end of the investigation and the battle with the sanction from DASH. According to POLITICO , the top Democrat has chosen a former adviser in the presidential campaigns of Ronald Reagan, George HW Bush, George W. Bush and John McCain.

Berisha has chosen Charlie Black of 'Prime Policy Group' who will represent Berisha in Washington, according to documents filed with the Department of Justice.

Below, the document that Berisha and Black submitted to the Department of Justice in Washington has also been made public.

Berisha denies the accusations of corruption and has not faced any charges in Albania. The Chief Democrat has accused Prime Minister Edi Rama after his involvement in the scandal with the former FBI official, Charles McGonigal, who is said to have received money from Rama to lobby against the Democratic Party and, specifically, against Berisha based on information they had came from Rama's office.

Berisha's case has previously fueled Republican interest in Hill and Black, who said they plan to press members of the House Foreign Affairs Committee and the Senate Foreign Relations Committee to investigate whether there is any connection between McGonigal's relations in Albania and the Biden administration.

The "wrong" decision to sanction Berisha and his family, for which Black admitted he was unaware of any evidence.

His firm represented the Albanian government during the Berisha administration and in an interview Black said that he had become friends with Berisha over the years and that the two had kept in touch from time to time.

"There may be classified information somewhere that contradicts what I'm saying, but I don't know, so I want some responsible people to look into it," said Black, who noted that Albania joined NATO- n and the EU under Berisha's government.
