How Albanians voted within the country in 2021 and 2025, about 200 thousand

The Central Election Commission (CEC) has so far counted 5,213 voting centers, or 99.8% of the total for the voting that took place within the country, as the count is almost closed.

The Socialist Party leads with 52.17% of the votes. Of the diaspora votes counted so far (about half), the Socialist Party has 54.24% of the votes. So far, the SP has 52.27% of the total votes, or 83 mandates, according to the CEC table.

The Democratic Party – Alliance for a Greater Albania coalition is second, with 34.26% of the domestic vote and 28.38% of the immigrant vote. So far, the Democratic Party has 50 mandates.

The Social Democratic Party is the third largest force with 3 mandates, receiving 3.26% of the total votes, so far.

The Opportunity Party has two mandates, with 3.08% of the total votes.

The Nisma Shqipëria Beşet coalition, although it is third in terms of votes, after the SP and the DP, has so far only had one mandate due to the distribution of votes across all regions. This party has received 3.5% of the internal votes and 8.47% of the diaspora votes, or 3.78% of the total votes.

The Joint Movement also has 1 mandate, with 1.5% of the total votes.

How the country voted in 2021 and 2025

When almost 99% of polling stations were counted, a total of about 1.46 million people in the country (excluding emigrant votes) voted (including invalid votes), down from 1.66 million in the 2021 general elections, or about 200 thousand fewer people, with a decrease of 12%, mainly as a result of emigration, where it is estimated that about 50 thousand people leave the country per year, according to indirect data from Eurostat.

The Socialist Party , although the number of voters has decreased by about 200 thousand, has managed to maintain the country's electorate, receiving 733 thousand votes so far , from 768 thousand in the previous elections , or about 35 thousand votes less. However, the new regional proportional system gives this party many more mandates than in 2021, when it received 74 mandates with the same number of votes.

The Democratic Party - Alliance for a Greater Albania coalition , a coalition between the Democratic Party and 25 other parties, including the Freedom Party (formerly LSI), has marked the biggest decline compared to the 2021 elections, when the DP was in coalition with 13 other parties under the acronym Democratic Party - Alliance for Change, while LSI was on its own at the time.

In 2021, the Democratic Party with its allies received 622 thousand votes , while in 2025, the DP coalition received about 482 thousand votes , or 140 thousand votes less , with a decrease of 22%. In 2021, the DP alliance received 59 mandates.

Meanwhile , in 2021 , the SMI alone received 107,000 votes and 4 mandates.

The Social Democratic Party received around 48,000 votes in the 2025 elections, an increase of 33%, but the number of mandates remained the same as in 2021, with 3.

The Nisma Albania Becomes coalition has marked the greatest increase in relation to itself, (in 2021 it ran as Nisma Thurje). Domestically, Nisma Albania Becomes has received almost 50 thousand votes , or five times more than in 2021, when it received 10 thousand votes. However, this party has so far only had one mandate.

The Opportunity Party , a new party created by Agron Shehaj, who was previously a member of the Democratic Party, received over 43,000 votes and two mandates in Tirana.

The Together Movement , another new party of Arlind Qorri, received 20.2 thousand votes and one mandate.

The Euro-Atlantic Coalition Party , created by Lulzim Basha, former leader of the Democratic Party, received around 19,000 votes , but failed to win a mandate.

The other four parties (Right Coalition for Development; Albanian National Alliance Party; Homeland Movement; New Democracy Alliance Party) have together received around 11 thousand votes.

So far, around 55.4 thousand invalid votes have resulted, a decrease of 33% compared to 2021, when there were 83 thousand invalid votes.
