DP-ASHM secures two mandates in Kukës, Isuf Çelaj the most preferred

The Kukës region will be represented in the Albanian Parliament with three deputies elected in the parliamentary elections of May 11, where the result produced two mandates for the DP-ASHM Coalition and one mandate for the Socialist Party.

From the opposition ranks, candidate Flamur Hoxha automatically secures the mandate, as he was on the closed coalition list. Meanwhile, for the second democratic mandate, the race is dominated by incumbent MP Isuf Çelaj, who has so far received 6,588 preferential votes, practically putting him on the path to reconfirmation.

Following Çelaj are Shkëlqim Shehu with 4,072 votes and Elvira Peka with 2,363 votes.

From the socialist camp, the only mandate in this district is secured by Eduard Shalsi, who, as the political leader of the district, was also on the closed list of the Socialist Party.

The results in Kukës reflect a clear division between the two main political forces, with the opposition managing to maintain a majority of representation in this northeastern district of the country.
