Alimehmeti: Albania cannot go to Europe with these elections

The Democratic Party candidate for Tirana, Ilir Alimehmeti, made an analysis of the May 11 election process.

In an interview with "MCN Live", Alimehmeti said that Albania cannot go to Europe with these elections, which according to him, were not European elections.

He stressed that the race was uneven and that there was concrete evidence of voter intimidation.

"If even in 2025 we do not know how to organize free and fair elections, then Albania cannot go to Europe."

These were not European elections.

I will mention here the report and statements of the OSCE/ODIHR representatives, who have described this as "the worst report we have had since 2001", underlining that the competition was unequal and that there was concrete evidence of intimidation and manipulation of the result.
