International operation/ Criminal group that caused 3 million euros in financial

The international operation against cybercrime codenamed "Platforma" is finalized.

The operation in Albania by the Directorate for the Investigation of Cybercrimes, in cooperation with the Directorate of the Special Operational Force under the direction of SPAK.

With the support of Eurojust and Europol, the operation took place in several countries such as Germany, Albania, Cyprus and Israel.

In Tirana, thousands of euros and equipment used to commit cybercrimes are seized.

The Directorate for the Investigation of Cybercrimes, in cooperation with the Directorate of the Special Operational Force at the Criminal Police Department, within the framework of the international operation codenamed "Platforma", has carried out the execution of the decisions of the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime, for the exercise of three controls in different environments.

During the operation, checks were carried out in three different premises, where 2 mobile phones, 1 laptop, 1 computer unit, 1 USB, 1 external hard disk, and a sum of 40,020 euros were seized as material evidence.

The execution of these decisions was carried out within the framework of a letter of request issued by the German authorities, with the support of Europol, within the framework of an international investigation into a structured criminal group involved in fraud through a fake online investment platform.

The criminal group is suspected of defrauding over 100 victims with a financial loss of over 3 million euros.

The operation was carried out as part of a coordinated international action involving the authorities of Germany, Albania, Cyprus and Israel, with the support of Eurojust and Europol.

The State Police remains committed to international cooperation to crack down on criminal groups operating in the field of cybercrime and financial fraud. Investigations continue.
