Tirana hosts European leaders on May 16, summit agenda revealed

Tirana will host the European Political Community Summit on May 16, where leaders of the EU and Western Balkan countries will hold important discussions on the region's shared challenges and priorities. The summit will last all day and will be accompanied by strict security measures and traffic blockages in certain areas of the capital.

According to the official agenda, the activities will begin at 10:00 with a meeting on achievements and expectations. At 11:00, the opening ceremony will be held, followed by a family photo and the first plenary session at 11:45. After lunch at 13:00, thematic round tables will be held, followed by bilateral meetings between the leaders present.

At the conclusion of the summit, at 6:30 PM, Prime Minister Edi Rama will hold a joint conference with the Prime Minister of Denmark, who will also be the next host of this European format.

Total traffic jam in Tirana

Due to security measures, on Friday, May 16, from 06:00 to 18:00 there will be a complete blockage of vehicle and pedestrian traffic on several key axes of Tirana, including:

The segment from the intersection with "Jeanne d'Arc" Boulevard to "Myslym Shyri"
Street "Myslym Shyri" Street to "Dëshmorët e Kombit"
Boulevard "Ibrahim Rrugova" Street to Kavajës Street
"Ded Gjo Luli", "Urani Pano", "Barrikadave" Streets and "Zogu I" Boulevard to the former Circus tunnel
Authorities call on citizens to avoid movement in these areas and respect the restrictions to ensure the smooth running of the summit.
