"Don't come at me from behind"/ he left SPAK, the head of the ARA

The Director of the Albanian Road Authority (ARRSH), Gentian Gjyli, appeared today at the SPAK premises, where he was officially taken into custody on charges of "violation of equality in tenders" and "abuse of office".

After leaving the SPAK premises, Gjyli refused to speak to the media, and even pushed the journalist who was filming her.

"Yes, definitely," he said when asked if the defendant had been arrested and pushed the camera at the journalist, telling her "don't come at me from behind."

The investigations have also included members of the Bid Evaluation Committee, who are suspected of having collaborated in this violation of public procurement legal rules.

Gjyli appeared today at the Special Prosecution Office, from where he emerged with the status of a defendant in a case that raises questions about the transparency and integrity in the allocation of public funds for infrastructure investments.
