Rama delivers a speech at Skanderbeg Square today

Prime Minister Edi Rama has revealed that a "victory meeting" will be held today at Skanderbeg Square.

Through a post on social media, Rama has confessed how he rarely finds the words to say to Albanians.

"GOOD MORNING and confessing that I cannot find the words to say tonight at 7 pm in Skanderbeg Square, I thank you sincerely for your unspeakable trust and I wish you a good day," Rama writes.

For the first time in three decades, the Socialists are heading towards a qualified majority in parliament with 82-84 seats.

Faced with a fragmented opposition, the result gives it the opportunity for broad control over the legislative and institutional processes in the country. Based on political experience, experts view this concentration of power with concern.

A party that holds such a large majority in the Assembly finds it easy to bypass parliamentary debates and exclude the opposition from the decision-making process, thus putting the democratic system at risk.

At the same time, the "supermajority" could diminish the role of the President, advance unilateral reforms, and turn the opposition into a "kind of decoration."
