Tension in CEAZ no. 31 in Tirana, vote counting suspended after clashes

Tensions have engulfed CEAZ No. 31 in Tirana, located in the premises of the “1 Maji” school, where the police were forced to intervene to remove all observers from the hall. The intervention was made after a request by the CEAZ chairman, who claimed that the observers were obstructing the work of the counting teams and exerting pressure on the process.

On the other hand, observers have raised serious concerns about the way the votes were counted. According to them, there was no separation of ballots where only the party was voted for from those where both the party and the candidate were voted for.

They also claim that a portion of the ballots where only party votes were cast are being attributed to a specific candidate, considering this a serious violation of the electoral procedure.

As a result, the counting process has been temporarily suspended, pending verification of the allegations raised. The situation remains tense, while an official reaction from the Central Election Commission is awaited.
