Hailey Bieber underwent heart surgery after suffering a "mini-heart attack" last month. The supermodel, 25, has confessed that she recently had a 'foramen ovale' (PFO) closure procedure to fix a hole in her heart.

"It went very well ... I'm recovering very well, very quickly," she said in a new YouTube video titled "Telling My Story."

After being rushed to a Palm Springs area hospital last month with symptoms similar to stroke, Bieber discovered she had a blood clot that struck her in the brain and caused a transient ischemic attack (TIA). However, doctors could not understand how the blood clot ended up there.

"When I went to UCLA, we did more in-depth testing ... to find a PFO," she explained in the video, describing a PFO as "a collision between the right and left chambers of the heart."

"Usually at birth it is supposed to close on its own," she added, noting that hers did not close.

"They found that I had a grade of five, which is the highest grade you can have. Mine was big enough. "What usually happens is that the heart will filter the blood clot in the lungs and the lungs will absorb it because they are so big and can withstand it."

However, the blood clot, "escaped from the hole in my heart and traveled to my brain and that is why I suffered a [mini stroke]".

Justin Bieber's wife said she was "simply grateful they found her" and her doctors performed a procedure in which they use "a button" to close the heartbeat.

"I'm really relieved that I'll be able to get out of this really scary situation and live my life," she said. Justin, 28, had previously expressed sincerity about her health fears, describing the situation as "really scary".
