The Foreign Minister of Germany, Annalena Baerbock, has warned that if Ukraine were to lose the war with Russia, "Moldova would be the next country".
She told reporters that only support for Ukraine guarantees Moldova's survival, Reuters reported.
According to her, everything that needs to be done also means the stability of Moldova.
"It is clear what is the main concern of the people; if Ukraine falls, Moldova is the next country," said Baerbock.
The German minister visited the Moldovan capital Chisinau, for the Partnership Platform with allies from France and Romania.
During the visit, Baerbock said that the president of Russia, Vladimir Putin, was determined to destabilize Moldova, "but he achieved the opposite, as Moldova is now on the path to membership in the European Union."
Moldova has been a serious candidate for EU membership since 2022.
