Alexei Navalny's daughter following in her father's footsteps: I am

Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny was reported dead in an Arctic Circle prison on Friday, leaving behind his wife and two children, daughter Dasha and son Zakhar.

Dasha called on the Russian authorities to allow a doctor to enter to treat her father in prison, a day after doctors warned that Navalny is in danger of life from kidney damage.

According to foreign media, Navalny, an opponent of the Russian president, announced a hunger strike in late March in protest at what he said was being denied proper treatment for acute back and leg pain by prison authorities.

" Let a doctor see my father ," Navalny's daughter, a student at Stanford University, wrote on Twitter.

Dasha studies psychology and is a well-known social media activist who is expected to follow in her father's footsteps. She has participated in a series of interviews where she has discussed her hopes for the future of Russia. Dasha has spoken several times about her father and his campaigns against corruption in Russia.
