Enkelejd Alibeaj reacted for the first time after the expulsion of 4 deputies (Oerd Bylykbashi, Tritan Shehu, Blind Kelliçi and Agron Shehaj) from the DP parliamentary group, with the argument that they did not take a stand after the January 9 protest.

From Saranda, Alibeaj declared himself the leader of the Democratic Party, accusing the current head of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, and his deputies, of committing acts of aggression. He denied that his decisions were influenced by Rama as he emphasized that it was clearly seen who is on his side.

"I find the opportunity to be among the democrats of Saranda not only to celebrate but also to discuss the state and the political situation first in Saranda, the challenges that await us, but also for the developments up in the center. I am the leader of the DP after the secession of Lulzim Basha. I am a representative of all those democrats who have decided to break away from the thirty-something year period of Albanian politics. I understand very well the plight of those who from time to time make these movements of aggression. It is the plight of Sali Berisha and Edi Rama. "I'm already used to these labels, putting me on the side of Edi Rama. The media has made public who was with Edi Rama. Those who are together have reasons for their personal problems," said Alibeaj.

Let's remember that almost all the democratic deputies have called Alibeaj's action for the exclusion of 4 deputies from the group a hasty and unfair action.

Currently, work has started to collect signatures for the replacement of Alibeaj with Ervin Salianji.
