"Rama is helping him", Këlliçi: Veliaj is preparing to

The political leader of the Tirana District for the Democratic Party, Belind Këlliçi, says with conviction that he has information that the mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, is preparing to flee to Switzerland.

Invited to MCN TV, Këlliçi said that Veliaj's escape to Switzerland is the reason why SPAK is not seeking a security measure against him, to let him escape. 

Këlliçi stated that Edi Rama is helping Veliaj with this scenario, and therefore stated that his "family life" is at risk.  


Excerpts from the studio conversation: 

Belind Këlliçi: According to information in the last four days, there have been attempts to leave the country. SPAK's statement that Veliaj's involvement in four criminal offenses has been proven, at least I believe that Mërtir agrees that there should be measures. It is widely said that there was an agreement, even with government intervention, to make him go through the asylum process. The Prime Minister's language confirms this when he spoke about the lynching and the danger to the mayor's life.

Klodiana Lala: This is pointless now. Instead of talking about whether or not he committed corruption, we are talking about a plan that we do not know exists. Today Veliaj is suspected of four criminal offenses, do you have any information about these, whether he will flee or not, wherever he goes, if he leaves Albania and goes to a mess there...

Belind Këlliçi: I have spoken with evidence about Erion Veliaj, the moment has passed that citizens can have any questions about whether or not Veliaj is corrupt. However, I am telling you, according to the data and information, the reason why there is no measure is to give him the opportunity to flee Albania and the country is Switzerland.
