"He was cut off", Martin Can's mother: Help should have been given to him at the QSUT

"He was cut off", Martin Can's mother: Help should have been

Florina Cani, the mother of the late Martin Cani, has spoken about the tragedy, where her son lost his life a few months ago after a physical conflict at the "Fan Noli" school in Tirana.

She expressed her determination to seek justice for her son, emphasizing that the family has a lawyer who is pursuing the case, and urged the authorities to act.

"Martin gives me the strength to live and I will insist until the very end that justice be served," she said.

Cani also denounced the lack of reaction from Martin's peers and acquaintances after the event, emphasizing that no one came forward to help him when he was in danger.

Another concern raised by the deceased's mother was the way Martini was treated after the incident. According to her, first aid should have been given at the "Mother Teresa" hospital, where there are cardiologists, and not at the Trauma Hospital, where help may have arrived late due to heavy traffic in Tirana.

"Martin gives me the strength to live and I will insist until the last point that justice is served. We have a family lawyer who is following the case step by step and we have left it up to the lawyer to follow them. I speak as a mother and I urge them not to remain silent, because this happened to me and it could happen to anyone."

I think it's been almost 5 months and every day I think that there is a coldness of all the people and of Martin's peers, and no one has come forward to help him, because he was cut off. And if a child sees him lying on the ground, he should come forward to pick him up. And here, I think, the sense of humanity has also been lost.

And a respected lady, respected by us, approached, and she took him, took him in her car and went to "Mother Teresa." The moment she went to "Mother Teresa," the ambulance took him, and this is again a mistake.

First aid should have been at "Mother Teresa", because there are heart doctors there, while there are no heart doctors at Trauma and the ambulance takes a long time, because the traffic in Tirana is very heavy and the ambulance lane itself is not fast enough. So, if they had called us as parents, we could have taken him to a private hospital, because we had the means to take the child. We would have done everything to save him.

"I had even exchanged myself with Martin, I had given him my heart, just so he could live," Florina Cani said on Syri TV.
