Alfred Moisiu recounts the meeting with Bajram Begaj, what did he discuss with

Bajram Begaj today held a meeting in the capacity of the new President of the country with Alfred Moisiu, former President of Albania. Moisiu is the first former official that Begaj meets after taking office as the new head of state.

Moisiu gave details from the meeting with Begaj regarding what was talked and discussed between them. For Abc News, the former President shared his impressions of Begaj and his conviction of how much the new President will be affected by the political clashes.  

"I think that Mr. Begaj will be a good President, for the very fact not only that I talked to him and saw his thoughts, his integrity. Because the integrity of the President of the Republic is very important, especially in the conditions of Albanian politics, because here they "grab" to solve problems as one or the other wants. Even sometimes in violation of the constitution, even above the law. By z. "Begaj seemed very positive to me and I created a conviction that this gentleman will perform this task properly in the interest of the people and all of Albania", said Moisiu.

The former president said that he was optimistic about Begaj as he also showed the conversation they had about Moisiu's experience as President of the country in the years 2002-2007.

“Po unë jam optimist se vërtetë do të jetë një president i mirë. Do ta mbroj kushtetutën. Tani unë këshillë nuk i dhashë por i fola për përvojën time. I dhurova edhe librin që kam bërë “Midis Nanos e Berishës” për përshkruar gjithë periudhën e Presidencës time. Me problemet politike e negative. Përplasjet që kam pasur dhe kështu me radhë”, u shpreh Moisiu.

I pyetur për çështjen e detit me Greqinë, që tashmë do të jetë në dorën e Bajram Begajt si President, Moisiu tha se Presidenti i ri kishte të qarta synimet e detyrës së tij.

"For this issue, in the first place, there must be a patriotic sense. This patriotic sense, Mr. Begaj not only does not lack but has a majority. Second, there must be an integrity to safeguard the interests of our nation and people. Usually people who go shopping do not notice these things. While Mr. "Begaj seemed to me a man with integrity and who has clear goals in his task", concluded Moisiu.
