Police have arrested 28-year-old Beqir Selamaj alias Beqir Murati, as the perpetrator of placing explosives in the bar owned by Bledar Birçaj's mother, an event that occurred on December 8 in the "Uji i Ftohtë" neighborhood.
We recall that Bledar Birçaj was executed by a hail of bullets on May 10, 2021 in his car in the "Hajro Çakërri" neighborhood.
The "The Boss" bar, which operated as a bar, restaurant and pizzeria, had been rented out and had not been operating for a long time, but it had been taken back by the owners (Bledar Birçaj's brothers) and had only been operating for a short time.
"The services of the Vlora Police Commissariat, in cooperation with the structures of the Vlora Local Police Directorate and under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office at the Vlora Court of First Instance, through in-depth investigative and professional work, finalized the operation codenamed "DANGER".
Based on intensive investigative actions and documentation with legal evidence, it was possible to arrest citizen BS alias B. M, 28 years old, a resident of the "Isa Boletini" neighborhood and with criminal records in the field of narcotics and theft of property.
The investigation results in this citizen being suspected of placing an explosive device on 08.12.2024, at around 05:50, in a bar in the "Uji i Ftohtë" neighborhood, owned by citizen RB, 73 years old, where as a result of the explosion, considerable material damage was caused.
During the operation, through coordinated actions supported by scientific evidence, two mobile phones, a bicycle and the clothing used during the incident were seized as material evidence," the police announced.
Investigations are ongoing to identify and detain other persons involved in this criminal activity.
The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecution for the criminal offenses of "Destruction of property with explosives" and "Unauthorized possession of weapons and ammunition".
