The former rector of the private university "Wisdom" speaks: I reported the scandal that my signature was forged, but no one reacted

The former rector of the private university "Wisdom" speaks: I

The Prosecutor's Office of Tirana has started the investigations related to the scandal regarding the awarding of fake diplomas by the private college Wisdom in Albania.

The former rector of the college, Lush Pëpali, who resigned due to the legal violations encountered in this educational institution in December 2023, in an interview for Top Channel shows that he denounced the scandal earlier, before it became public, filing a lawsuit jointly with academician Bajram Hysa.

"On July 1, I was called to the prosecutor's office. I testified that there are fake diplomas, then I filed a report myself on July 15, where I also informed the chief prosecutor",  said Përpali.

Top Channel learns that the first move taken after doubts about the authenticity of the Wisdom University diplomas was carried out by the Italian embassy in Albania, which is directed to the Ministry of Education, which then goes to the private college for verification. This is the exclusive document where the embassy asks for information on whether the special education master's program at Wisdom had legal value.

"And the answer was that this program has neither been done nor will be done. I don't know where the owners did their shopping, we didn't know those students. Since the format of the diploma, it was ridiculous, a format sheet with marks 9-10, but who set these marks? It has never been programmed and I have not signed. They stamped me" , said the former rector.

The forgery of Professor Përpali's signature was not only carried out by this private educational institution where he was employed, but the scandal deepens further as his name was also used by the notary office to legalize these invalid certificates.

"The notary has stated that I was present to legalize the diploma of so-and-so, without ever being there. And he did this so that they could receive the apostolic seal at the Foreign Ministry ", Përpali added.
