A murder with a firearm was recorded this morning in the neighborhood number 16 in Durrës.

Police identified the victim as Edmond Koçi, otherwise known by the nickname 'Mond Çekiçi'. The 40-year-old was shot with a firearm in his car, an event that took place near the Education Directorate in Durrës.

Who is Edmond Koçi?

Edmond Koçi, known as 'Mond Çekiçi' is not an unknown name for Albanian justice.

He is known as a person with criminal records, as he has been convicted several times by the Durrës police.

Mond Çekiçi ”, was considered by the Durrës police as a dangerous person, as not only was he an integral part of a criminal clan in Durrës, specifically part of Lul Berisha's gang.

He has been convicted several times on charges of illegal possession of weapons and resisting police forces.  

Edmond Koçi was considered by the Durrës police as a person with high risk also due to his past as a member of Lul Berisha's gang, while he was also friends with Emiliano Shullazi and Plarent Dervishaj.
