A police mega-operation took place yesterday evening in several cities of the country, while it is learned that the detainees were in the cities of Elbasan and Lushnje and were members of Laert Haxhi's group.

The operation was launched by order of the prosecutor's office of Elbasan, while the file is expected to be transferred to SPAK later.

According to Nea 24, within this operation, 15 arrest warrants were issued and 6 murders were discovered.

The detainees belong to a group of hired killers led by Laert Haxhiu, who is known for a series of crimes committed in the city of Lushnje and is charged with the murder of three people.

Two of the unsolved murders are said to have taken place in the neighboring state of Greece, while another in Tepelena and one in Korça. Among them, five assassination attempts with explosives have been revealed.

Everything was made possible by the cooperation of an arrested person with justice, revealing information that helped to stop the criminal group.

The penitent of justice is Artan Tafani, accused of robbery in the capital. The young man was wanted as the perpetrator of the robbery of a currency exchange point in the Astir area of ​​Tirana.
