Albanians from the diaspora denounce: Customs are fining immigrants who come to

Thousands of citizens joined the protest against the Rama government this weekend, which has entered its 22nd day. In addition to the high participation of protesters from Albania, dozens of Albanians from the diaspora also joined the rally.

During the protest, a representative of the diaspora took the floor at the improvised podium, where he denounced what he described as pressure on immigrants who have traveled to Albania to join the protests.

According to him, many immigrant vehicles have been stopped at customs points and penalized with fines.

"We have come for unity, not division. As long as the flag is flying, you have our support. We have come a long way, some cannot stay today. They have been blocked at customs, they have been fined. Today is Sunday, so they are postponed until tomorrow to pay at the post office. Only unity and not division," he said to the protesters.

The Albanian diaspora is increasingly active in supporting the protests that have been taking place in the country for weeks. Participants emphasized that the presence of immigrants in the protest is an indication that dissatisfaction with the government has exceeded the borders of Albania, mobilizing also Albanians living and working abroad.
