Balkan athletics champion denounces: I was fired just because I participated in

Renowned athlete David Nikolli has publicly denounced that he was fired from his job due to his participation in the protests that have been taking place in front of the Prime Minister's Office for three weeks.

Through a video message published on social networks, Nikolli stated that after participating in the protests against the government, he was faced with measures that, according to him, are vindictive and political in nature.

The athlete, who has a successful career in athletics, said that the decision to dismiss him from his job in the public sector is unfair and that he will challenge it legally.

According to him, despite the contribution he has made to Albanian sports over the years, today he is facing lack of recognition of his merits and the loss of his job due to his beliefs and civic engagement.

"I am here to denounce the charade of the current government. As a champion who has represented my country with pride and given everything in sports, today I face this injustice."

I am the Balkan champion with 8 medals, I have 12 national records and just a few days ago I won the Albanian national championship in two competitions.

I'm being stripped of my government job and my titles are not recognized just because I went out to protest with the youth as a free citizen.

"These injustices against me and against the youth will be legally punished together with my lawyers. I will follow all legal avenues to protect my rights. Don't worry, time will fix everything. Free people cannot be afraid ," he said.
