Murder of Santiago Malko, Special Appeal leaves Ilir Selmani under house arrest

The Special Court of Appeals has decided to release from detention Ilir Selmani, who is accused of involvement in the murder of Santiago Malko.

According to the decision, the trial panel assessed that the legal terms of detention have expired, leading to the loss of the force of this security measure. For this reason, Selman has been placed under "house arrest".

Currently, Selmani is facing a retrial process in the Special Appeal, following the previous decision of the Supreme Court, which overturned the 25-year prison sentence given to him and ordered the case to be reviewed by another panel of judges.
