Criminal Amnesty, political scientist: MPs voted for the release of their family

Political scientist Afrim Krasniqi has raised strong accusations against the parliamentary majority, stating that there were cases of conflict of interest in the Assembly during the vote on criminal amnesty.

Invited to A2 CNN, Krasniqi said that some MPs have voted for laws that, according to him, have brought direct benefits to members of their families sentenced to prison.

"The issues that citizens are talking about out loud were not discussed. Today, the Socialist Party feels proud, it won 84 votes, it returned the debt that it is the only party in Europe that wins 100 percent of the votes of prisoners. We monitor the Parliament and there is a term there 'conflict of interest'. There are MPs who have voted to release their family members from prison. This is prohibited by law and the Constitution. All these young people have been sent for criminal prosecution. Where is there a police force in an EU country that hundreds of thousands of citizens come out against corruption and the police send them for criminal prosecution" , said Krasniqi.
