Suspected call center fraud scheme busted in Tirana, 7 arrested

Police have finalized an operation in Tirana against a suspected computer fraud activity conducted through call centers, leading to the arrest of 7 people and the release of 27 others.

According to the official announcement, those arrested are Albanian and foreign citizens, including individuals from Paraguay and Angola. Among them are Zizo Azizi, Bjorn Kareco, Luis Masi, Jose Canda and Simao Samuel.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the group was involved in computer fraud schemes, while they are also facing charges of "illegal employment" and "concealment of income."

During searches of the premises used for this activity, authorities seized sums of money in euros, suspected to be proceeds from criminal activity, as well as a significant amount of electronic equipment, including 70 computers and 49 mobile phones.
