Brazil-Morocco match breaks World Cup viewership record

The match between Brazil and Morocco in the World Cup has made television broadcast history in the United States, breaking new viewership records on FOX.

According to FOX Sports data, the match, which ended in a 1-1 draw, was watched by an average of 10.019 million viewers on the English-language broadcast, becoming the most-watched program ever for a World Cup group stage match, outside of the United States (USMNT) matches.

The peak viewership reached 13.119 million viewers during the 7:45–8:00 PM ET time slot, confirming the tremendous interest in the showdown.

Compared to the 2022 World Cup, this figure represents a 212% increase, while the then average for non-USMNT matches was around 3.21 million viewers.

FOX Sports also noted that this was the most-watched broadcast of the men's World Cup group stage in the history of American English-language television.
