Alimehmeti: Rama's resignation would pave the way for a transitional

Member of the National Council of the Democratic Party, Ilir Alimehmeti, has expressed his support for the protesters' demands, emphasizing that the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama remains their main objective.

Invited to the "Off the Record" show on A2 CNN, Alimehmeti stated that Rama's removal from office would create the opportunity for the establishment of a transitional government, which would have as its mission the organization of new elections.

According to him, such a scenario would guarantee a more open political process, giving new political forces the opportunity to compete in the elections.

"The demands that the protesters have are very clear and I support them. The resignation of Edi Rama is the first demand, plus the four laws. The resignation would close it, because it would mean that the results were achieved. The temporary, transitional, caretaker, transitory, technical government, which would lead the country to other elections and would also give the opportunity to a new party to run in the elections, this is one of the scenarios. What are the percentages for this to happen? They are definitely low. To resign in the first place you have to be a man, I have said this about Mr. Veliaj as well. You have to have a certain manliness ," said Alimehmeti.
