Leaving the PS, Pjerin Ndreu gives lessons in nobility to Neomalësora: Hand over the mandate

Leaving the PS, Pjerin Ndreu gives lessons in nobility to Neomalësora: Hand

The Mayor of Lezha, Pjerin Ndreu, has reacted with a moralizing tone to the decision of MP Marjana Koçeku to leave the Socialist Party parliamentary group and position herself as an independent.

In a post on social media, Ndreu described the move as a matter of political faith and morality, asking Koçek to give up the mandate he won, as according to him, handing over the mandate would "ennoble" the MP.

"Anyone, under different conditions and circumstances, can change their opinion or ideas, they may no longer find themselves or not align with a political force. This is completely normal. But the honor of being appointed to the top of the political list of the largest district in the north, without any previous political contribution, morally should not be misused."

"Relinquishing the mandate obtained thanks to the vote of thousands of Shkodra socialists would be an act that would ennoble my friend, Marjana Koçeku," Ndreu writes.

Apart from the rift created within the Socialists, Ndreu minimizes it with the argument that Koçek's act does not constitute a drama for the Socialist Party.

"This is not a drama for the SP, but it is a breach of trust, as long as the mandate given politically by the SP is misused. Beyond the exaltations of some who believe that the world has collapsed, the morality of the highlander must prevail, where he eats bread, he does not overturn the cup ," writes Ndreu.
