From Tirana to New York, the Albanian diaspora rises in protest against Rama

The wave of protests that began in Albania against the government of Edi Rama is now spreading beyond the country's borders. Albanians living in the diaspora have announced the organization of rallies in some of the largest cities in Europe and North America, joining the demand for the removal of the prime minister.

Following the protests held the day before in several countries, activists have also published the calendar of rallies to be held this Sunday, June 14. According to the organizers, the goal is to express solidarity with the protesters in Albania and to convey the same political message from the diaspora.

Rallies have been announced in several US states, including New York, Chicago, Boston and Michigan, as well as in Toronto, Canada. Meanwhile, in Europe, protests will take place in cities such as Berlin, Munich, Cologne, Stuttgart, Athens, Genoa, Faenza, The Hague, Strasbourg, Vienna, Oslo and Odense.

Organizers say the diaspora mobilization aims to show that dissatisfaction with the government is not limited to within Albania, but is also felt by Albanians living and working abroad.
