"It's not just a promise", former SP minister's message to Rama: Besa is measured by fulfilled commitments

Former Socialist Minister Ermelinda Meksi has reacted after Prime Minister Edi Rama's presentation of the political document "Besa", contrasting this concept with the way a government's credibility is measured.

In a short message on social media, Meksi argues that citizens' trust is not gained through symbolism or promises for the future, but through functioning institutions, concrete results, and accountability.

According to her, "Besa" should not remain just a pledge for what the government promises to do, but should be measured by what has been accomplished and by responsibility for the commitments made.

Meksi's reaction:

Besa: the moral standard of government credibility

In democracy, trust is not built with symbolism, but with functioning institutions, tangible results, and accountability, which are conditions for the credibility of governance.

Besa is not simply a promise for the future. It is measured by the fulfillment of commitments, the functioning of institutions, and accountability, upon which citizens' trust in governance is built.
