Lee Kang-in leaves PSG, transfer to Atletico Madrid is official

Atletico Madrid have officially signed Lee Kang-in from Paris Saint-Germain, with the Korean midfielder becoming the Madrid team's third major signing of the summer transfer window.

The 25-year-old has signed a contract with "Los Colchoneros" until June 30, 2031, while the transfer is reported to have cost the Spanish club around 40 million euros.

Lee Kang-in joins Diego Simeone's side after two other important signings. Atletico have previously secured the services of Alejandro Grimaldo from Bayer Leverkusen for around €22m and Marten Hjulmand from Sporting Lisbon for around €40m.

The Madrid club confirmed the agreement through an official announcement, announcing that the Korean midfielder will be part of the team until 2031.

The transfer marks Lee Kang-in's return to La Liga, a league he knows well. Before his adventure in France with PSG, the Korean played for Valencia and Mallorca, where he stood out for his technique, creativity and ability to play in several positions in the offensive department.

With the new signings, Atletico Madrid are aiming to build a more competitive squad for next season, with Diego Simeone looking to challenge Barcelona and Real Madrid in the race for the La Liga title.
