The European Democratic Party has strongly condemned police violence against protesters, on Thursday in front of the Parliament.
In a post showing a mother and her autistic son who were attacked with tear gas, the European Democratic Party writes that Rama's government must be held accountable and respect the peaceful protest of citizens.
“A mother hugs her autistic son after police tear gas engulfed protesters defending Albania’s coastline. Behind this embrace lies a stark political choice: citizens demanding transparency and environmental protection were met with force, while a luxury project linked to Jared Kushner received government support.
"Edi Rama's Albania deserves democratic accountability, independent investigation and full respect for peaceful protest ," the reaction states.
