A serious incident has been recorded in Gjirokastra, where a 7-month-old baby lost his life during emergency transportation to the "Omer Nishani" regional hospital.
According to police sources, the incident occurred on July 21, and after the baby's death, an investigation was launched against two pediatricians from the Gjirokastra Regional Hospital, with the initials MK and EK.
The police have referred the materials to the Prosecutor's Office, where criminal proceedings have been initiated against two doctors, as it is suspected that during two visits conducted during the month of July they neglected the baby's medical treatment.
According to preliminary data, the baby was rushed to the hospital, but died on the way, before receiving medical attention at the hospital.
The investigation team is continuing its work to fully clarify the circumstances of the incident and determine possible responsibilities.
