Protest in front of the Parliament, the US embassy calls on American citizens:

The US Embassy in Tirana has reacted to the protest that was announced today in front of Parliament, in parallel with the last plenary session.

In the message forwarded, the embassy urges American citizens to stay away from the protest and to be vigilant to avoid distractions from the rally.

The embassy also calls on citizens to stay informed through the media and follow an emergency plan in case of need.

REACTION:

A protest is planned in front of the Parliament Building, on George W. Bush Street. This protest is in conjunction with the ongoing overnight protests in front of the Prime Minister's Office building, on Dëshmorët e Kombit Boulevard, between Mother Teresa Square and Skanderbeg Square. Additional protests may occur in the coming days. Although protests and large gatherings often begin peacefully, the situation can change quickly. Protests may also spread to surrounding areas, including other government buildings. Increased police presence, road closures, traffic diversions, and traffic disruptions are expected in the hours leading up to and during the protests. United States government personnel are advised to avoid areas where protests are taking place.

Strengthen your safety measures by following these tips:
