The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has accused Prime Minister Edi Rama of unilaterally blocking the territorial reform process, while warning that the opposition will react throughout the country.

In a statement to the media, Berisha said that the DP representatives in the commission have prepared a serious project for territorial reform, but according to him, Rama intervened to interrupt the process at the moment it was moving towards finalization.

"We will stand up for all of Albania. This man cannot make the country his personal fiefdom," declared Berisha.
The leader of the Democrats also focused on the interventions in Theth, accusing Rama of destroying apartments built on residents' properties.

"He went yesterday and returned as a criminal to the scene of the crime. What he has done to Theth has not been done to any occupier. He goes and razes the houses built on his own land. He will be held responsible for the destruction he has caused until the last minute of his life, he will be held accountable," he said.
Berisha also rejected claims that the protests have negatively affected tourism, stating that the cancellations of reservations in Theth and other areas are related to the government's actions.

"What tourism? There are hundreds of cancellations in Theth and everywhere because of it. Then you accuse the protest", said Berisha.
In conclusion, the leader of the DP called on citizens to react to what he described as "extreme actions" of the government, emphasizing that the opposition will continue the battle against the territorial reform proposed by the majority.
