The Supreme Court has published the final list of candidates who meet the legal criteria to be elected members of the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC).

The list follows the procedure launched on June 26, 2026 for the selection of three new members of the Supreme Court of Justice from among the judges.

There are 7 candidates in the race: Arbena Ahmeti and Sandër Simoni from the High Court; Igerta Hysi from the Special Court of Appeal for Corruption and Organized Crime; Fatri Islamaj from the Court of Appeal of General Jurisdiction in Tirana; and Matilda Llangozi, Brunilda Kadi and Manjola Xhaxho from the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction in Tirana.

Candidates will compete for three mandates on the KLGJ, specifically one seat for a judge of the courts of first instance, one seat for a judge of the courts of appeal, and one seat for a member coming from the Supreme Court.

The process of electing new members of the High Judicial Council will take place on September 25, 2026, at 10:00.
